Supreme Court issues notice to Lanka E-News Editor

(UDHAYAM, COLOMBO) – The Supreme Court (SC) today (19th Thursday) issued notice to Lanka E-News editor Sandaruwan Senadheera to appear before court on March 3 regarding 14 cases of contempt of court filed against him.

Attorney-at-Law Madura Vithanage filed cases of contempt of court late last year against Senadheera for allegedly defamatory articles on judicial officials including judges published in LEN, arguing that they constitute instances of contempt of court.

An Interpol arrest warrant was also issued against him by the Gampaha Magistrate. However, the Interpol rejected the warrant as it was not issued according to the correct procedure.
