“Amended traffic fines in 4 months” – Dy. Minister Asoka Abeysinghe

(UDHAYAM, COLOMBO) – Deputy Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation Asoka Abeysinghe states that the proposed amendments to motor traffic fines will be sent over to the Attorney General (AG) in the near future.

According to the reports, the Deputy Minister has stated upon receiving the Attorney General’s approval the proposed amendments will be submitted to parliament.

Deputy Minister Asoka Abeysinghe noted that a minimum of 4 to 6 months will take for the amended fines to come into effect

The Deputy Minister said the motor vehicle act must be revised and the motor traffic act must also be revised, then it must be submitted to parliament.
