Two brothers killed while taking selfie on railway track

(UDHAYAM, COLOMBO) – Two people were killed while attempting to take a selfie on a railway track in Colombo on Sunday (11), the Police said.

According to the Police the two youth had been taking a selfie on the railway track between Bambalapitiya and Colpetty (Kollupitiya), and they had not seen or heard the Aluthgama bound express train from Maradana that hit them.

The two brothers from the same family, who were 24 and 12-years-of-age respectively, were residents of Anuradhapura. The accident had occurred at around 6.30 PM.

The remains of the deceased are deposited at the Colombo National Hospital and their post-mortem will be carried out on Monday (12).
