“India stand with Sri Lanka in hour of need” – Modi

(UDHAYAM, COLOMBO) – As the death toll reached to 100 due to the bad weather condition in Sri Lanka, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said India stands by the people of Sri Lanka.

“We stand with our Sri Lankan brothers and sisters in their hour of need,” he said in a tweet on Friday (26).

The Indian Premier also said that Indian ships are being dispatched with relief material. “The first ship will reach Colombo Saturday morning. The second will reach on Sunday. Further assistance on its way,” he said.
