Heavy rain and strong winds to continue tomorrow

(UDHAYAM, COLOMBO) – Heavy rain and strong winds will continue in several parts of the country tomorrow (19), the Department of Meteorology said.

Fairly strong winds at times (Up to 40-50kmph) can be expected over the island (Especially in the western slope of the central hills) and strong winds at times in the Northern and Southern sea areas (up to 60-70 kmph).

Showers or thundershowers will occur in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Southern, Central and North-Western Provinces. Fairly heavy falls (more than 50 mm) can be expected at some places.

Showers or thundershowers will likely occur at several places in the Eastern and Uva Provinces after 2.00 p.m. tomorrow.
