Twenty-nine school children hospitalised after drinking contaminated water in Mirigama

(UDHAYAM, COLOMBO) – Twenty-nine students of Bandaranayake Maha Vidyalaya in Mirigama were hospitalised as they fell sick after consuming tap water on Wednesday morning (17).

It is reported that the students have reported to school at about 6.00 a.m. for year Grade 5 Scholarship tuition classes.

According to the Police, the cause of illness is drinking contaminated water. The water samples of the school water tank will be sent to the Government Analyst.
