(UTV | COLOMBO) – A 67-year-old woman died and 38 others were hospitalized when two buses collided at Uthuwankanda along the Colombo- Kandy road in Mawanella. The accident had taken place when an SLTB bus which was overtaking another bus knocked a private bus that was coming from the opposite direction.
According to the police the SLTB bus was plying towards Kegalle while the private bus was plying towards Kandy.
The deceased is a retired teacher who lived in Molagoda, Kegalle, the police said. Police have arrested the drivers of both buses in connection with this accident. Mawanella Police are investigating.
