Erik Solheim teams up with the Sri Lankan government to combat climate change

(UTV | COLOMBO) –  Former Executive Director of the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP) Erik Solheim is appointed as the International Climate advisor to President Ranil Wickremesinghe.

Upon meeting President Wickremesinghe on Monday, October 12 he said,

“President Wickremesinghe asked me to be International Adviser on Environment and Climate Change and to work with the wider South Asian region.

I will work together with his great team as well as with Mohamed Nasheed, the former President of the Maldives.”
