Navy renders assistance to raid cannabis cultivation in Lahugala Forest

(UDHAYAM, COLOMBO) – On receipt of intelligence information to the Sri Lanka Navy (SLN), a group of Naval personnel attached to the Southeastern Naval Command in coordination with Special Task Force (STF) personnel of Shasthraweli recovered a cannabis cultivation in Lahugala Forest, during a raid carried out on Saturday (06).

The cultivation was located approximately 15 km away from the Neelagiri Maha Seya, Lahugala.

The SLN and STF personnel set fire on the plantation destroying over 5,000 well grown plants of cannabis. Further investigations into the incident are conducted by the Pothuvil Police.
