Yupun in action as Australians continue gold hunt in Birmingham

(UTV | COLOMBO) – Australia continue to remain on top of the 2022 Commonwealth Games Medals Tables.

After the end of Day Four of the competitions, Australians have claimed 71 medals including 31 gold medals.

They have also won 20 silver and bronze medals each.

Hosts England with 21 gold medals and New Zealand with 13 gold medals remain second and third respectively.

Canada and South Africa remain fourth and fifth in medals standings at the Birmingham Games.

India with three gold medals occupy the sixth position while Scotland, Malaysia, Nigeria and Wales complete the top 10.

Meanwhile, several Sri Lankans will be in action at the Commonwealth Games today.

Sri Lankans will feature in Judo, Boxing, Weightlifting and Athletics events.

Ace Sprinter Yupun Abeykoon will compete in the 100m heats this afternoon.

His 100m first round event is scheduled for 3.10pm.
