(UTV | COLOMBO) – The Lanka Private Bus Owners Association says only 10-15 percent of buses will be in operation today (15).
President of the Association Gemunu Wijeratne said if fuel is supplied today or by the weekend, 50 percent of buses will be added to the service from Monday.
He said the number of buses in operation is vastly insufficient to meet the people’s need, adding that large numbers of commuters have been seen at bus halts.
Wijeratne said around 10,000 buses are in queues to obtain fuel while only 3,000 buses are in operation across the island.
