Private bus operations limited

(UTV | COLOMBO) – The Lanka Private Bus Owners’ Association says that due to the fuel shortage, it had become almost impossible for private buses to function.

Its Chairman, Gemunu Wijeratne stated that many private buses are at depots belonging to the Ceylon Transport Board to obtain fuel.

The Sri Lanka Transport Board Deputy General Manager, Panduka Swarnahansa mentioned that about 500 buses have been taken out of service due to the lack of spare parts.

However, he added that other buses will continue to function as usual.
