China to help agriculture in Sri Lanka

(UDHAYAM, COLOMBO) – Vice Minister of Agriculture in China Chen Xiaohua agreed to provide Chinese expertise to develop the agriculture sector in Sri Lanka, State Minister of Agriculture Wasantha Aluwihare said.

The two ministers held a meeting yesterday (03) at the Agriculture Ministry in Colombo.

Vice Minister Xiaohua had further said that a program will be launched to exchange technical know-how related to manufacturing of agricultural equipment as well as to train farmers and manufacturers on manufacturing such equipment.

According to the State Minister Aluvihare, the Chinese vice minister had also assured the support from the Chinese experts to introduce and improve fruit and vegetable seeds that give a bumper harvest.
