More than Seven-hour power cuts today

(UTV | COLOMBO) – More than seven hours of power disruptions will be enforced across the island today.

A request by the Ceylon Electricity Board to increase the duration of power cuts due to the unavailability of fuel for 300MW of thermal capacity was approved by the Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka.

Accordingly, areas P to W will experience a five-hour power disruption from 8.30am to 6.30pm and a two hour and 15-minute disruption from 6.30pm to 11.00pm.

Meanwhile, areas A to L will experience a five-hour power cut from 8am to 6pm and a two hour and 30-minute disruption from 6pm to 11pm.
