At the beginning of the All-Party Conference Ranil – Cabral clash

(UTV | COLOMBO) – An all-party conference chaired by President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa began at the Presidential Palace some time ago to discuss the political and economic steps.

An all-party conference chaired by President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa began at the Presidential Palace some time ago to discuss the political and economic steps to be taken in the wake of the current massive economic crisis in the country.

Inaugurating the conference, President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa said that the conference was convened to find a permanent and lasting solution to the current massive economic crisis in the country.

The President thanked the political parties who attended the event and invited the political parties who did not attend the event to attend the event.

Central Bank Governor Ajit Nivat Cabral explained the purpose of the All-Party Conference.

The Governor of the Central Bank commented that the decline of the Sri Lankan economy began in 2015.

At the time, the government said it was saving the country about $ 15 billion in debt and that foreign reserves had fallen by about $ 1 billion this season.

He also explained that the value of the country’s development indicators had declined during that period.

He later described the long-term effects of the Easter attack and the Covid-19 epidemic on the Sri Lankan economy and economic downturn.

He also spoke about the impact of the Ukraine-Russia crisis on the Sri Lankan economy.

At the end of the speech, former Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe criticized the central bank governor’s initial speech and said the conference was not convened to discuss old political views.

He emphasized that the purpose of the conference was to address the current economic crisis in the country and to take action with that in mind.

He stressed that the conference should not be a conference where the central bank governor blames each other with narrow political objectives.

“I was invited by the Sri Lanka Freedom Party, especially Minister Nimal Siripala, to attend this conference. If there is such a short-lived political talk like the central bank governor at an all-party conference, we will respond, and he will. Eventually it will end in success. We will solve the problem without talking short politics, ”the former prime minister said.
