If no concessions Bus fares to increase by 30%

(UTV | COLOMBO) – Private bus owners say they will submit a request to the Ministry of Transport today requesting a diesel concession, in line with CEYPETCO also increasing fuel prices.

Private bus owners also noted that the minimum fee for transport would be increased somewhere between Rs.20-30 in the event a price revision is undertaken.

Secretary of the Lanka Private Bus Owners’ Association Anjana Priyanjith said other bus fares will increase by 30%.

He said the government must give a diesel concession to the transportation industry if such a price hike is to be avoided.
