PM’s statement on fuel shortage is foolish-Wimal

(UTV | COLOMBO) – Parliamentarian Wimal Weerawansa says the statement by Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa that a fuel crisis was created in the country as a result of statements by Ministers that a fuel shortage will emerge is unacceptable.

The MP said such statements amidst a severe dollar shortage are humorous and foolish.

MP Weerawansa added the shortage was not created by statements that stocks will run out in two to three days.

He claimed that if Letters of Credit cannot be opened at banks, fuel and gas stocks cannot enter the country either.

The Parliamentarian claimed that individuals making statements refuting a dollar crisis are highly mistaken.
