(UTV | COLOMBO) – ABC has announced plans for a potential “The Rookie” spin-off series starring Niecy Nash (“Claws,” “Reno 911”)
Nash will guest star in a two-episode arc on the Nathan Fillion-led cop drama as Simone Clark, the oldest rookie in the FBI Academy.
She will unite with LAPD officer John Nolan (Fillion) and the L.A. division of the FBI who enlist Clark when one of her former students is suspected of terrorism following an explosion at a local power station.
Those episodes, which have yet to set an airdate, will serve as a backdoor pilot for this spin-off.
