Examinations Department gearing up for 2021 ALs

(UTV | COLOMBO) – The Department of Examinations says they are in the process of making arrangements to conduct the GCE Advanced Level Examination for 2021.

The examination which begins on Monday will continue till the 5th of March.

Meanwhile, 29 hospitals have been set up as examination centers for coronavirus infected students while the list of such hospitals has been posted on the Department’s official website.

Meanwhile, candidates who are quarantined will be required to report to the designated examination center mentioned in their admission card and inform the relevant invigilator that he or she is in quarantine.

Candidates will then be given the opportunity to sit for the exam in a special examination hall set up at the center in accordance with health and safety guidelines.

The Department informs that candidates infected with coronavirus or currently in quarantine can obtain further information from the area Medical Officer of Health or by calling the 1911 hotline.

Commissioner General of Examinations L.M.D. Dharmasena stressed that examination rules and regulations will be implemented in the same manner irrespective of the type of examination center.
