Two die in an accident in Aparekka

(UTV | APAREKKA) – Two individuals have died in a road accident in Malimbada, Aparekka along the Southern Expressway.

Two individuals have died in a road accident in Malimbada, Aparekka along the Southern Expressway. Police said a lorry heading towards Mattala early this morning was stopped along the way, with the driver’s assistant inspecting the vehicle.

A fuel bowser heading in the same direction had rammed into the lorry. The 72 year old driver’s assistant succumbed on the spot while the driver and assistant of the bowser sustained critical injuries and were admitted to the Matara Hospital. However, the 61 year old driver of the bowser later succumbed to injuries. The two are residents of Kadawatha and Gonawala.
