Two-hour special operation carried out in WP 

(UTV | COLOMBO) – Police have warned the employees of 360 passenger buses who did not follow health instructions during a special operation carried out in the Western Province during a two-hour period yesterday (13).

The Police Media Spokesman’s Office stated that the police have also issued warnings for 480 shops.

This special operation has been carried out to check whether the public in the Western Province are following proper health guidelines.

The number of police officers who participated in this special operation was 476.

The operation was launched to check whether the public is following health instructions such as transporting passengers within the seating capacity of buses, wearing face masks, limiting the number of customers from entering stores, and whether any advertisements have been displayed for the purpose.

A number of 895 passenger buses, 181 air-conditioned buses and 1,232 retail shops and pharmacies and other small shops have been inspected.
