Committee appointed over Muthurajawela

(UTV | COLOMBO) – A special committee comprising eight Members of Parliament has been appointed to provide solutions to the issues that have arisen in relation to the Muthurajawela Wetland Zone.

The Ministry of Urban Development said the committee comprises Ministers Mahinda Amaraweera and CB Ratnayake, State Ministers Nalaka Godahewa, Nimal Lanza, Sudarshini Fernandopulle and Parliamentarians Nalin Fernando, Jayantha Weerasinghe and Weerasumana Weerasinghe.

The committee was appointed following a discussion in Parliament on the advice of the President and the Prime Minister.

The committee is tasked with assessing and reviewing the amendments that will be made to the composition of industries identified through the Gazette Notification issued in relation to a land area of the Muthurajawela Wetland Zone being vested with the Urban Development Authority.
