Pandora Papers: Report on Lankans handed to President

(UTV | COLOMBO) – A report has been handed over to President Gotabaya Rajapaksa containing the progress of the investigations carried out by the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption pertaining to the Sri Lankans named in the Pandora Papers.

On the 6th of October the Head of State issued directives to conduct a prompt investigation regarding the Sri Lankans and relevant transactions included in the Pandora Papers, and to submit a report within a month.

Accordingly Director General of the Commission WKD Wijeratne submitted a report dated November 8th.

Wijeratne said reports containing bank account details were called from various banks and financial institutions, adding the Commission is receiving the relevant reports at present.

He noted the final report will be submitted after the relevant reports are received and following further investigations.
