Data operator remanded over missing NMRA data

(UTV | COLOMBO) – The data operator of a private company who was arrested over the disappearance of files from the National Medicines Regulatory Authority database has been further remanded till the 16th of November.

The order was issued by Colombo Chief Magistrate Buddhika Sri Ragala.

The individual was attached to the company that set up the database for the NMRA. He was arrested under provisions of the Computer Crimes Act and Public Properties Act.

The Magistrate previously ordered all electronic items which were in his possession to be directed to the Government Analyst Department.
