(UTV | COLOMBO) – Another 29 persons have been arrested during the past 24 hours on charges of violating quarantine regulations.
Accordingly a total of 81,353 persons have been arrested on the relevant charges since October last year.
Police said 2,244 persons travelling in 1,226 vehicles were inspected at 13 entry and exit points to the Western Province yesterday.
272 persons travelling in 133 vehicles, without the required permits, had been sent back at the checkpoints.
