Scotland stun Bangladesh to register a 6-run win

(UTV | OMAN) – After the one-sided Oman-PNG clash, Scotland registered a 6-run victory against Bangladesh to start their #T20WorldCup 2021 campaign in match No.2 of the double-header Sunday (17).

Mohammad Saifuddin reaped the rewards of tight bowling from Taskin Ahmed and Mustafizur Rahman as Saifuddin landed the perfect yorker that knocked skipper Kyle Coetzer over.

After losing their skipper early, Scotland finished the Powerplay strongly with Munsey and Cross scoring 23 runs in the last two overs of fielding restrictions.

A 51-run partnership for the seventh wicket between Chris Greaves and Mark Watt lifted Scotland to 140/9 from 53/6.

However, Bangladesh got off to a slow start losing their first two wickets inside 18 runs.

The Scottish bowling proved to be too strong for Bangladesh as they were restricted to 134/7 in their 20 overs.
