Teacher – Principal trade unions object to school opening

(UTV | COLOMBO) – The ‘Teachers and Principals’ Trade Union Alliance states that all trade unions will rally against if schools are forced open on the 21st.

Speaking at a media briefing in Colombo yesterday they stated that the strike would continue even if schools were reopened if their salary issue was not resolved.

Meanwhile, speaking to the media in Lunugamvehera, Minister Amaraweera, a member of the Ministerial Sub-Committee appointed to look into the issue of teacher-principal salary anomalies, said that the government as well as the teachers’ unions should think about students at this time.
