(UTV | COLOMBO) – Another 81 persons have been arrested during the past 24 hours on charges of violating quarantine regulations.
Accordingly a total of 80,790 persons have been arrested on the relevant charges since October last year.
Police said 2,231 persons travelling in 1,235 vehicles were inspected at 13 entry and exit points to the Western Province yesterday.
337 persons travelling in 1,455 vehicles, without the required permits, had been sent back at the checkpoints.
