SL T20 World Cup squad leaves for Oman

(UTV | COLOMBO) – The Sri Lanka Twenty20 World Cup squad has left the island to take part in a limited overs series in Oman.

The World Cup touring party that left the island today, consists of 23 players and 13 officials and backroom staff.

The team was due to leave the Katunayake International Airport to Muscat at 10.30pm yesterday.

However, the scheduled flight to Muscat was cancelled due to cyclone Shaheen which battered Oman and the United Arab Emirates yesterday.

Accordingly, the squad has left the BIA this morning to Muscat. Sri Lanka will first take on Oman in a T20 series before kick-starting the 2021 World Cup campaign on the 18th of October against Namibia in Abu Dhabi.
