Disney, ScarJo Resolve “Black Widow” Lawsuit

(UTV | COLOMBO) – Scarlett Johansson and Disney have settled their breach of contract lawsuit over her pay for Marvel Studios’ “Black Widow”.

The settlement comes just days after the first court hearing was pushed back to March 2022. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

In a statement, Johansson says: “I am happy to have resolved our differences with Disney. I’m incredibly proud of the work we’ve done together over the years and have greatly enjoyed my creative relationship with the team. I look forward to continuing our collaboration in years to come.”

The suit, filed in July, was poised to have implications for the major studios. Johansson said she had been guaranteed an exclusive theatrical release when she signed her deal and alleged her contract was breached when the film was simultaneously released on the Disney+ service.
