President to attend 76th UN General Assembly

(UTV | COLOMBO) – President Gotabaya Rajapaksa is due to attend the 76th session of the United Nations General Assembly that is due to get underway in New York on the 14th of September.

The President’s Media Division said this is the first occasion that President Rajapaksa will be addressing the UN General Assembly.

The PMD said the Head of State is due to hold bilateral discussions with his counterparts on matters related to economic, education, agriculture, education and other areas of interest.

Foreign Minister Prof. GL Peiris, Principal Advisor to the President Lalith Weeratunga and Foreign Secretary Admiral Prof. Jayanath Colombage are due to attend the UN General Assembly with the President.

The President will apprise the Assembly of his personal policies and the present situation in the country.
