(UTV | COLOMBO) – The decision on extending the current island-wide quarantine curfew beyond Monday will be taken tomorrow.
The Director General of Health Services, Dr. Asela Gunawardena said the decision will be taken by the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19.
Members of the Task Force will convene tomorrow under the patronage of President Gotabaya Rajapaksa.
Island-wide quarantine curfew was imposed at midnight on the 20th of August following a spike in coronavirus cases and deaths.
Although curfew was scheduled to be lifted on Monday, it was extended until 4am on the 6th of September.
