Principal -Teachers unions are engaged in a ‘sathyagraha’

(UTV | COLOMBO) – Leaders of several trade unions including the Principal -Teachers unions are engaged in a ‘sathyagraha’ in Colombo today demanding a solution to the teacher-principal salary issue.

Secretary of the Ceylon Teachers’ Union Joseph Stalin said that the trade union will continue today and they will be offline from teaching activities for the 31st day.

He further stated that the leaders of many trade unions including the Ceylon Bank Employees ‘Union and the Government Nurses’ Union will participate in today’s sathyagraha.

Meanwhile, the Cabinet subcommittee appointed to look into this issue will also meet today.
