Travel restrictions extended

(UTV  | COLOMBO) – Army Commander General Shavendra Silva says that a decision has been taken to further extend the island wide travel restrictions until June 21 (Monday).

The Army Commander, however, noted that several services including essential services will be permitted during the travel restriction period.

Accordingly, apparel factories, major construction sites, weekly village fair (Sathi Pola), agricultural and organic fertilizer production activities will be allowed to function under health guidelines.

He said that the dates for opening banks and dedicated economic centers will be notified later.
