Mawarala Hospital gets COVID-19 Ward

(UTV | COLOMBO) – Giving further strength to recovery process, 613 Brigade troops under the 61 Division of the Security Force Headquarters – West (SFHQ-West) established an ICC in the Mawarala Hospital compound and converted it to accommodate some 25 COVID-19 patients.

The renovation process was inaugurated on the directions of the Chief of Defence Staff and Commander of the Army, General Shavendra Silva under the supervision of Major General Vikum Liyanage, Commander, SF-West, together with Major General Dammi Hewage, General Officer Commanding, 61 Division and area troops.

Brigadier Upul Kodithuwakku, Commander, 613 Brigade, along with 3 Gemunu Watch troops in less than a few days carried out the project. It was formally vested in the hospital authorities on Monday (31).
