Thalaimannar collision caused due to unattended rail gates

(UTV | MANNAR) – Investigations conducted into the collision between a bus and train at the Thalaimannar Railway Crossing on Tuesday (16) revealed that the rail gates had been left open as the gatekeeper had been on leave.

This was revealed by the private bus driver and conductor who are in custody.

A 9-year-old boy and 25 others suffered injuries in the collision. Approximately 30 passengers were on the bus and 20 of them were schoolchildren.
