“John Wick” scribe pens “Hellsing” film

“John Wick” franchise screenwriter Derek Kolstad is teaming with Amazon Studios and Automatik to develop a live-action feature film adaptation of famed action-horror manga title “Hellsing”.

Written and illustrated by Kouta Hirano, the story is a “gonzo reimagining” of Bram Stoker’s “Dracula” with the Transylvanian vamp now known as Alucard – a special agent bound to The Hellsing Organization, under the leadership of Abraham Van Hellsing’s great-granddaughter Integra.

He has been enlisted to aid them in their mission to protect England and the world from vampires, ghouls, and other supernatural threats. Hellsing’s newest recruit, a female ex-police officer named Seras Victoria, also figures into the action.

Brian Kavanaugh-Jones, Fred Berger, Mike Callaghan and Reuben Liber, Jason Lust and Kolstad will all produce.
