Dhananjaya De Silva likely to miss rest of the series

(UTV | COLOMBO) – Sri Lanka’s inform batsman in the first test against South Africa in Centurion is likely to miss the rest of the series due to thigh injury sustained yesterday, his team mate told media.

Dinesh Chandimal, who built Sri Lanka’s first inning from 54/3 to 185/3 without losing a wicket with Dhananjaya De Silva, told media as things stand now latter would miss 2-3 weeks of cricket due to injury.

De Silva was expected to undergo a MRI scanning yesterday evening to determine the seriousness of the injury.

Sri Lanka ended first day with 340/6, thanks to Chandimal (85) and Dr Silva retired hurt at 79.

Sri Lanka is struggling with injuries as Suranga Lakmal and Oshada Fernando were out of the first test and Dr Silva missing the rest of the series.
