Actor Robert Pattinson has reportedly tested positive for COVID-19, as a result filmmaker Matt Reeves’ “The Batman” has temporarily halted production in the UK reports Vanity Fair.
Warner Bros. Pictures and Pattinson’s representation have yet to officially confirm the news, but the shutdown reportedly encompasses the entire production at Leavesden Studios.
Warner Bros. Pictures said in a brief statement: “A member of The Batman production has tested positive for Covid-19 and is isolating in accordance with established protocols. Filming is temporarily paused.”
The project only began filming again three days ago after a five month halt due to the global pandemic and was following COVID-19 safety protocols being utilised by many productions around the globe. It’s not clear if any other cast or crew are infected at this point.
“The Batman” was only around a quarter of the way through its shoot when it went on hiatus, which makes the first trailer released the other week all the more impressive considering so few scenes have been shot.
“The Batman” opens in cinemas on October 1st 2021.
