‘SLPP regional leaders will be probed if elected’

UTV | COLOMBO -Leader of the Samagi Jana Balawegaya Sajith Premadasa has questioned as to how Sri Lanka is now facing a second wave of coronavirus, despite claims that the pandemic has been entirely mitigated in the country.

Speaking at a public gathering held in Dambulla, the former Opposition Leader said that actions of regional leaders of the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna will be investigated under a SJB led government.

Premadasa questioned statements of the government that claimed, the threat of COVID-19 was mitigated in the country, since a second wave has emerged.

Since the emergence of a second wave of the virus, Sajith Premadasa revealed that the people are expecting a third, fourth and fifth wave as well.

The SJB Leader accused the government of having an ineffective strategy as they failed to aid and assist farmers during the pandemic.

He also noted that regional SLPP leaders advanced their business endeavours and sold vegetables during this crisis.

Premadasa guaranteed that his party would investigate such discrepancies under an SJB led government.
