55 foreign ship crew members arrive in SL

UTV | COLOMBO – 55 foreign ship crew members have arrived in the island for employment onboard vessels docked at the Colombo and Galle harbours.

The groups had arrived in the country via the Bandaranaike and Mattala International Airports.

Our airport correspondent said the individuals had landed in Sri Lanka on three separate flights.

The first flight carrying 26 ship personnel landed at the BIA from Doha last morning, while the second flight with 21 ship crew members on board, arrived at the Mattala Airport from Chennai, India last night.

The same flight is expected to return to Chennai via the Mattala Airport this afternoon, carrying another 25 foreign ship personnel who were employed on a ship docked at the Galle port.

Meanwhile the third flight carrying the remaining 08 foreign crew members, who flew from Doha, landed at the BIA this morning.

Our Airport correspondent said the same flight returned to Doha this morning, with 145 foreign nationals who were at the BIA on board.
