No cause for concern over certain statements about army- Shavendra Silva

(UTV | COLOMBO) – Army Commander Shavendra Silva today said that there is no cause for concern even if some individuals are making certain statements about the army.

“Any person is free to express themselves as Sri Lanka is a democratic country. There is no need to make any special comment about the majority view and opinion of the Sri Lanka army and there is no cause for concern even if two individuals are making certain statements about the army,” the army commander said in response to a question about Karuna Amman’s recent comment.

The Army Commander also said that training activities of the Sri Lanka Army had to be limited due to the COVID-19 pandemic, adding that they were not completely taciturn.
