Ejiofor confirmed for “Doctor Strange” sequel

Chiwetel Ejiofor has confirmed he’ll reprise his role of Karl Mordo in the upcoming “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness”.

The character was last seen in a post-credits sequence turning to villany – stealing the mystical energy that Jonathan Pangborn (Benjamin Bratt) was using to no longer be paraplegic. Mordo then claims the Earth has “too many sorcerers”.

Mordo hasn’t appeared or been mentioned in any subsequent films, but Ejiofor tells ComicBook.com that “all will be revealed” in the Sam Raimi-directed follow-up. Ejiofor is very happy with Raimi’s involvement:

“He’s coming on. I’m very, very excited about that. Obviously, we’ve been sort of interrupted as the whole world has been in the pandemic but hopefully we are back on track with that and continuing quite soon, so I’m very excited about it.”

Ejiofor will soon be seen in Netflix’s comic adaptation “The Old Guard” arriving in July.
