‘Election Commission biased towards the SLPP’

(UTV | COLOMBO) – The Opposition accuses the National Election Commission and its Chairman of being biased towards the ruling Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna.

Speaking during a media briefing in Colombo today, Former Parliamentarian Thushara Indunil Amarasena said Former Leader of the Opposition Sajith Premadasa has been prevented from using his office although those in the government have been permitted to function in their capacity as Ministers continuously.

He said despite Sajith Premadasa being prevented from using his office; the Chairman of Elections has allowed Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa to run his election campaign by using state resources.

The Former Parliamentarian while condemning such actions said the law being enforced disproportionately has created an imbalance during the run-up to the Parliamentary Election.
