(UTV | COLOMBO) – Police have arrested 402 suspects on various charges during a special operation carried out in the Western Province.
The office of the Senior Deputy Inspector General of Police in charge of the Western Province stated the operation was conducted between 6.00 last morning and 5.00am today.
The highest number of suspects were arrested on charges of possession of heroin, which totaled to 158, while 95 persons within this number were arrested on charges of possession of marijuana.
Other suspects were arrested on charges of possession of ICE and illicit liquor.
Further investigations are underway.
