Over 66,500 arrested for violating curfew

(UTV | COLOMBO) – 66,519 persons have been arrested for violating curfew regulations, since the 20th of March.

Police said 18,733 vehicles were also seized during the time period when curfew was imposed in the country.

178 individuals had been arrested between 10 last night and 4 this morning, while 38 vehicles had been seized during this period.

Meanwhile 21,787 cases had been filed pertaining to violation of curfew regulations between the 20th of March and 4am today.

Police said 8,671 have been penalized thus far.
