Dengue on the rise in Galle

(UTV | COLOMBO) – Two-hundred and eighty-eight dengue cases have been reported from Galle, this month, the State media reported.

One-hundred and sixteen cases have been reported from Habaraduwa, while another 112 were from Balapitiya, the District Regional Epidemiologist Dr. Venura Singakkarachchi stated.

Tests carried out in the district have found that over 80% of households in Akmeemana, Ambalangoda, Baddegama, Balapitiya, Bope – Poddala, Elpitiya, Galle, Habaraduwa, and Hikkaduwa are mosquito breeding sites, he stressed.
