EC considers alternatives to dyeing voters fingers

(UTV | COLOMBO) – The National Election Commission has directed attention to alternative methods to dyeing voters fingers at the General Election.

Speaking to a prominent online news portal in the isle, the Director General of the Election Commission Saman Sri Ratnayake said alternatives such as dipping voters fingers in a jar containing dye or shooting the pigment onto the finger are being considered.

Meanwhile the Election Commission is also considering improving voting centres for the upcoming election at a divisional level, but it would not be implemented overall across every division.
