No Covid-19 cases in society within last 24-day

(UTV | COLOMBO) – No Covid-19 patients were reported in society within the last 24 days, except from the quarantine centres, Chief Epidemiologist Dr Sudath Samaraweera said.

He said that random testing is being conducted at high-risk areas in society, but in the last three weeks, no new cases have been reported from the society.

Covid-19 patients reported in the country within last three weeks either are of Naval personnel or Sri Lankan returnees from overseas who are in quarantine centres.

A total of 1,089 Covid-19 patients were reported in Sri Lanka as of yesterday. Over 600 patients among them are naval personnel and another 70 persons are returnees from overseas.

A total of 660 Covid-19 patients were recovered and discharged from hospitals and another 420 patients are still undergoing treatment at hospitals.
