(UTV | Colombo) – A total of 177 Officers and Senior Officers of the Sri Lanka Army were promoted today to their respective next ranks, retrospectively.
The officers were promoted by Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces and President Gotabaya Rajapaksa with the concurrence of the Ministry of Defence and recommendations of the Chief of Defence Staff, Commander of the Army and the Head of the National Operation Centre for Prevention of COVID 19 Outbreak (NOCPCO), Lieutenant General Shavendra Silva.
The Sri Lanka Army said this was one of the largest segments of promotions made in recent times.
The promoted officers consist of 05 new Major Generals, 04 Brigadiers of Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force, 39 Lieutenant Colonels, 69 Majors and 60 Lieutenants of the Army.
